Verizon is doubling termination fees

Verizon might have the new Droid, but if you want it, you'll have to agree to a two contract (that's pretty normal) but they are doubling the Early Termination Fee for smartphone users from $175 to $300.

And being into the contract 18 months, only shaves $180 off of that fee. So at the end of your contract, you can't terminate without paying an extra $60.

How do they get away with that?
