Chat To Text Viral Marketing

Today, via LinkedIn, I received an invitation to learn about ChatToText. The service allows members to post a badge or a link on a web page or email signature. People click the link and are able to Instant Message with the member, but the messages go to the member's cell phone. Making this unique compared to regular IM clients is that the member's cell phone number is never revealed to the chatter.

As a new web service, competing in an overcrowded market of web gadgets, the founders of ChatToText have decided an MLM approach to marketing. By combining the tactics of Multi Level Marketing and Internet distribution, ChatToText hopes to grow a user base quickly. If it is successful, expect to see copy cats soon.
