AT&T vs Verizon Data Network

Verizon has been running some great ads lately comparing their 3G coverage to ATT's. (I especially like the one where they say the iPhone belongs on the Island of Misfit Toys).
The truth is though, that 3G does not necessarily equal 3G. What Verizon calls 3G is really only a little better than what ATT calls EDGE. And what ATT calls 3G is way faster than Verizon 3G.
So wherever Verizon says they have 3G, they mean they have EDGE+. But wherever ATT has 3G, Verizon still only has EDGE+.
Can't blame them for their advertising, though.
